The third edition of the Westway LAB has resolved to extend a challenge to create a new joint work. The idea is to look at the artistic ecosystem of the festival’s host city and challenge a local group of people to prepare a unique type of performance. This year the proposal is one involving the legendary British band, the Membranes, and the Convívio Jazz Chorus together on stage. Underlying this performance is the transformation of the music from the Membranes, with the Convívio Jazz Chorus performing especially written pieces for this singular event. This will be the official opening concert for the festival, which promises yet another original and unexpected moment that is surely the calling card of the Westway LAB.
